World Refugee Day “Refugees: Rebuilding Lives in Safety and Dignity"

Celebrating WORLD REFUGEE DAY, the Canadian Red Cross, Settlement Orientation Services (S.O.S.) and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees invite you to explore refugee experiences in Canada and our responses to them.

  

Friday June 20th , 2008: at Vancouver Public Library Central Branch:

350 W. Georgia, Vancouver.

2 sessions for youth participation: 10 am – 12 pm   and 1 pm – 3 pm

A day in the life of a refugee claimant ... experience for yourself what it would be like to arrive at Canada's borders and claim protection. Discussion to follow.

Groups are encouraged to attend this hands on event especially designed to appeal to youth about why refugees need protection and how they come to Canada.
