MENNONITE DISASTER SERVICE
Mennonite Disaster Service, together with the Christian Reformed
Church and the Church of the Brethren, is calling for volunteers
to respond to flood damage repairs in communities in the Skagit
River Valley in Washington state.
Home repairs are needed in the town of Hamilton, the settlement
of Cape Horn and other residences in the Skagit River Valley.
Interested volunteers will need letters from the MDS office in
Winnipeg designating them as volunteers in order to ease border
crossings. Volunteers should contact the MDS Winnipeg office at
(204) 866 1274.
Volunteers should also have appropriate medical coverage. Rebuilding
begins the first week of May. Those who are interested in committing
a week or more and would like more information should contact: Homer
Andres, (360) 384 3173 or e-mail homerlube@juno.com
