About the Program Coordinator

Elsie Goerzen comes to the Abuse Prevention Program with many years of working the field. In 1987, Elsie was one of the founders of Sardis DoorWay, a support service for single mothers with pre-school children and served as Coordinator of the program until 2005. She has worked as a Registered Nurse, a child abuse prevention facilitator and has also been involved in parenting education. In the early 1990's Elsie served on the MCC Women's Concerns Committee when the MCCBC Abuse Prevention Program was initially proposed.

Elsie has been married to Walt for over 40 years and together they enjoy gardening and spending time with their five grandchildren.
