Why is there hunger in the world?
One
long held myth is that there is simply not enough food to feed
everyone. In reality abundance, not scarcity, best describes the
worlds food supply. This causes one to search further for
explanations why 840 million people face hunger in a world that
produces enough food for everyone.
MCCs new Hunger Packet Enough Food Uncovering
Five Major Factors to Hunger will help you in attempting
to better understand reasons for hunger. The packet gives consideration
to five major issues that contribute to world hunger.
Conflict You cant grow food on the run!
Debt You cant grow food if you are growing
flowers for export!
Deforestation You cant grow food without
soil!
Gender Discrimination You cant eat if you
are ignored!
Poverty Cycle You cant eat if you dont
have the means!
The packet provides you with information sheets, color posters,
reflection questions, resources list and suggestions on how you
can help alleviate world hunger.
For more information on this packet, hunger workshops or local
service opportunities that address hunger, contact Jon Nofziger

Not One Alone: Generations at Risk
25 minute video, grade 10 - Adult.
21 million people have died from AIDS. 42 million people are living
with HIV or AIDS in the world today. This video, these numbers
take on a personal face as we visit people with AIDS. Church workers
in Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa put away their theological
differences to work together. They teach how AIDS is transmitted
and provide home based care groups to support families and communities
affected by AIDS, reducing not only physical suffering but also
emotional suffering, working to dispel the cultural stigma of
AIDS
