Beza Lewetatoch LimateBased in Addis Ababa, the Beza Lewetatoch Limate project was organized by a group of young, professional men who felt the desire to become more active in HIV/AIDS issues in their community. The project trains idir leaders (traditional community leaders often used for funerals) as a way to reach out to Orthodox Church leaders and school teachers in the community. The intent is to encourage more community members to volunteer to provide care and support to people living with AIDS and children orphaned by AIDS. If contributions to a project exceed the amount needed, MCC will use the donations to support similar projects.
