Sexual Harassment

Our Response when Experiencing or Witnessing Harassment

  • Trust your instinct
  • Be clear with the person that you are not comfortable/find it inappropriate
  • When possible ask them to stop
  • Keep a detailed journal of the event/s (dates/times/places, etc.)
  • Write a letter directly to the person, naming the behaviour, keep a copy for yourself
  • Report cases of harassment and treat them as real
  • Educate and re-educate yourself about sexual harassment, abuse and violence
  • Become familiar with organizational/workplace policy on harassment
