Our Response when Experiencing or Witnessing Harassment
- Trust your instinct
- Be clear with the person that you are not comfortable/find it inappropriate
- When possible ask them to stop
- Keep a detailed journal of the event/s (dates/times/places, etc.)
- Write a letter directly to the person, naming the behaviour, keep a copy for yourself
- Report cases of harassment and treat them as real
- Educate and re-educate yourself about sexual harassment, abuse and violence
- Become familiar with organizational/workplace policy on harassment
